Dave has been a familiar face around Urbanise for the last two years, working as our Quantity Surveyor on both One and Two Express projects. At Urbanise however, things don’t stand still for long and after this settling in period we have asked Dave to take on more responsibility and become our Commercial Lead. This is a role new to Urbanise ensuring consistent real commercial management cross all Urbanise projects. Working with Dave we hope to evolve this role over time as we continue to grow and aim to continually improve. In the last two years Dave has been a real asset to our projects and has a great relationship with both our clients and supply chain. A bit about your job / what does your job entail?
Managing the money coming in and going out on all the current construction projects, helping to price and secure new projects for the future.
What is a typical day like?
Brand new, every day, hectic! Can involve anything and everything relating to site progress, design changes, client changes, sub-contractor queries, client applications, sub-contractor payments, tendering new projects, procuring sub-contracts / supplier orders on current projects, reporting project commercial status and the list goes on…
Favourite memory from work?
Meeting Mr Kimber in his gym shorts.

What do you like most about your job?
The camaraderie between us at Urbanise and shown on site with the sub-contractors / client team, the flexibility of working wherever gets the job done best and the ease in which you can speak your mind without fear of a backlash.

Sleep! Travel*, gigs*, sporting events*, socialising* (*All Pre-COVID!)

Caribbean, Italy, San Francisco, Cape Town.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I am now the proud owner of a rather large pug!
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Boring I know but I’m a QS at heart; pay off the mortgage! In fact, pay off all close family members’ mortgages! Then I refer you to my answers to favourite holiday destinations for what comes next!
Do you have any hidden talents?
I was once 10th in Lancashire at chess and 2nd in Lancashire at badminton doubles!
