As part of the Miles Platting Regeneration PFI project, Urbanise was initially engaged to complete all groundworks, substructure and external works for 11 new build homes across four sites in Miles Platting, Manchester. This included site clearance, main utilities and diversions, beam and block ground floors, drainage and foundations, as well as paving, tarmac, fencing and brickwork walls.

A landmark job

Following the success of the project, our contract was extended to include the superstructure brick and blockwork. A landmark job for us, we directly employed 28 bricklayers and a dedicated brickwork construction manager to deliver the project.

Building a community

Despite the complexity of the project, we delivered it on time and on budget, helping to create 11 spacious homes for local families that needed extra space. The overall regeneration project saw £250m invested in Miles Platting and was the catalyst for several more developments that have now created Platting Village.

“Urbanise were very proactive and constructive in terms of the design and deliverability of the initial package. They efficaciously delivered all the groundworks and substructures for the Reprovision new-build housing.

With the success of this, it was evident that the rest of the superstructure of this Reprovision scheme should be negotiated with Urbanise. I would have no hesitation in recommending Urbanise to other clients for future projects and would also recommend that the sooner they are involved, the better the results are likely to be.”
