From retail to restaurant

Urbanise was tasked with creating a bright and welcoming restaurant based in the popular south Manchester suburb of Didsbury. Part of a group of family-owned restaurants, we converted a ground floor retail space into Proove, a modern pizza hotspot, which is much-loved by locals.

Flexible support

We worked closely with Proove’s chosen interior designer, Sally Flude, to bring her vision to life. We followed her brief and specification to ensure the use of high-end materials, reflecting the quality of the Proove brand. As the project developed and it was clear our client required additional help to ensure the restaurant opened on time, we offered full-service support by procuring furniture and lighting, fitting timber furnishings and assisting with the install of the restaurant’s all-important pizza ovens.

Site challenges and a second project

Due to the restaurant’s location on Burton Road, a busy hive of activity, we were faced with the challenge of storing and removing materials and waste. Our experienced site team managed this daily by staggering deliveries and pick-ups and keeping subcontractors informed of the process and schedule. Despite these challenges, the project was a success, and on the back of this revamp, we were re-engaged to deliver a second project for the client.
