Two Express
Urbanise was engaged to deliver a refurbishment of the office space at Two Express in Ancoats, having previously delivered several successful projects for PJD. Whilst negotiating the difficult logistics of a mixed-use site, we completed the project over two floors. On time and on budget, we stripped out all existing fixtures and refurbished the main entrance, reception area and communal meeting rooms, giving the building a modern and minimal feel. Our team also completed external recladding work on the lift structure while ensuring we maintained safe and convenient access to the apartments above for both residents and visitors.
Success through partnerships
stephenson hamilton risley STUDIO formed part of the project partnership. The award-winning architects remodelled the workspace and kept the building’s structure on display through exposed surfaces, creating a more welcoming entrance to the building. We then worked closely with lead architect John Boardman and his team to bring his design to life. We also collaborated with in4m Property Consultants, who managed the project, and OBI, who specified the furniture and furnishings.
Gateway to One Express
The success of this project led to us being invited to tender for works on the neighbouring One Express building, which were commenced in June 2020. The work is now complete at a value of £5.7M – our biggest project to date.
