Barton Arcade
Urbanise was delighted to be chosen by Mansford LLP to refurbish a residential apartment located in the iconic Grade II-listed Barton Arcade on Deansgate.
This followed several previous projects working with the European multi-strategy real estate investment firm, including Mayfair Court and Manchester Arena.
An extraordinary residence
The task was to amalgamate two existing apartments and transform them into one luxury apartment, complete with a high-end fit out. This involved a strip out, knocking down walls, redesigning the layout and completing bathroom and kitchen refits. The stunning apartment now boasts three bedrooms, as well as two bathrooms/wet rooms and a large reception area. The high-spec apartment is complemented with the sight of the impressive arcade ceiling structure and glass dome roof from several rooms, as well as the views across Manchester from the private roof terrace.
Project challenges
Due to its unique location at the very top of the arcade, the entrance to the apartment is on the roof terrace, making access to carry out the works very difficult. We had to plan carefully to allow for the transportation of materials into the space and for the removal of waste. The busy central location brought other logistical challenges, however, due to our experience of working on city centre projects, we were well prepared and equipped to deal with them.
