Didsbury Point

Urbanise was chosen by City Residential to refurbish a residential development, making the properties fit for sale. Located in the vibrant West Didsbury area of Manchester and consisting of 152 townhouses and apartments, the homes benefit from excellent connectivity to the city, as well as great local amenities such as bars, delicatessens and restaurants, including Proove.

Making a house a home

Following repossession by a bank, City Residential was appointed with the task of letting out the homes and apartments on the development. However, after some time, it was decided that the development would be sold. Having suffered wear and tear after being let to various tenants, the units were not fit for purpose for the purchase market and needed significant refurbishment and modernisation. Therefore, we were engaged to deliver the improvement works. Prior to the refurbishment, we removed all the furniture making appropriate space for the works. We refurbished the kitchens and bathrooms and recarpeted all storeys. We also completed external works across the expansive development, including turfing and hard landscaping.

Additionally, we delivered site maintenance throughout the extensive 24-month programme. This included landscaping and planting.

Project challenges

The main challenge of the project was the volume of services provided, which required adept management of many different contractors and suppliers. The team was well placed to rise to the challenge and transformed the ageing development, making it fit for purpose for the sale market.

The newly refurbished properties all sold and are now home to hundreds of residents.
