Urbanise Construction is proud to announce the expansion of its Manchester headquarters with the merging of its existing office at Trafford House with the neighbouring unit, creating a larger, collaborative workspace. As part of this development, fire engineering, investigation and risk experts, FIRE Consultancy, will also be moving into the office, deepening a successful partnership built over several years of working together.

The newly expanded 920 sq ft space has been thoughtfully designed to support our ongoing growth and the evolving nature of our project portfolio, particularly in façade remediation. With increasing demand for cladding investigation and remediation work, we’ve broadened our internal functions, including the development of a dedicated design department.

“This expansion reflects our planned growth and the complexity of the projects we’re delivering,” said Louise Hobson, Co-founder and Director at Urbanise Construction. “We’re not just increasing headcount – we’re extending our capability. The new space allows for greater team collaboration and includes a variety of working environments, from focused desk space to formal and informal meeting areas. It’s all about enabling better teamwork and creating a workspace that supports the way we work now and into the future.”

Key features of the upgraded office include increased desk capacity, a welcoming new reception area and three distinct meeting spaces: a formal conference room, an informal booth area and a relaxed breakout zone. The space is designed in this way to encourage collaboration and support a more social working environment.

While we continue to deliver traditional contracting projects across Greater Manchester and the UK, façade investigation and remediation has become a core area of our expertise. Our partnership with FIRE Consultancy has been a key part of this work for over three years.

“We’ve worked closely with FIRE Consultancy on many of our schemes, including external wall investigations, cladding replacement and internal fire safety works,” said Matt Kimber, Co-founder and Director at Urbanise Construction. “Sharing an office space builds on the strong relationship we have. Being in the same environment will make it even easier to share ideas, problem solve in real time and deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients.”

For FIRE Consultancy, establishing a base in Manchester supports their growing nationwide operations and strengthens our shared mission to deliver excellence in fire safety and façade remediation.

“Establishing a dedicated office in Manchester is an important step for us,” said Blair Fotheringham, Head of Operations at FIRE Consultancy. “The activity we’re undertaking here warranted a physical presence and co-locating with Urbanise is an ideal fit. It means we can work even more closely on shared projects and provide our clients with a better, more efficient service.”

FIRE Consultancy’s team will be based at the Manchester office full time and the space will also serve as a hub for visiting staff from their Swansea and Milan offices. Like us, they are committed to sustainable, organic growth and fostering a workplace that prioritises development and inclusivity.

“We’re heavily focused on cultivating an enjoyable, inclusive and creative environment for our team,” Blair added. “This new space not only supports that, but it also strengthens the way we work with Urbanise. Sharing knowledge and best practice helps both businesses deliver safer, smarter solutions for our clients.”

Jason Hill, Fire Consultancy CEO, added: “I am excited for what we’re developing within our business and for our field of professional operation. Having an office here marks a milestone we wish we had achieved some time ago. However, the right timing is important; the right people are important – and having the right location here in Manchester is a captivating combination.”

Alongside FIRE Consultancy, we’re creating a shared workspace that reflects the values of both businesses: collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to building safer, more sustainable buildings.
